What Should You Get Mom for the Holidays? [GIFT... →
Maybe this will help me!!!!
If it wasn’t for your mom, you wouldn’t even exist. Think about it! Doesn’t she deserve the best from you this holiday season? But shopping for mom — especially in the tech department — can be a challenge. Will she even use that fancy ereader six months from now? Will she appreciate the d…

MadeThought: Ten Years Yesterday- SI Special →
Highlighted by Jean, this mini- exhibition looked great. I never realised MadeThought did all this printed prettiness that I recognise. Wish i had seen this before it closed. Boo! Ya.

Not quiet Madame Tussauds
Muuuuuch more special. I saw these a few years back and they popped back up on my radar today. Everytime I look at the detail of these figures I’m astounded by them. The skin tone, the energy, damn…. this lady has talent. Check out Carole Feuerman”s wax here

Sexy CSS ... via FORK.
Mmm, lovely CSS, none of that flash madness :)
There may be “no new ideas”, but there’s finetuning for sure - as these guys prove. Simple, sleek - perfect scrolling for the mobile market screens - and pretty full screen too.
Tick, tick, tick.

PS.
Regarding the last post… on the general hating of the album cover, there will inevitably be those who think that I just dont get IRONY.
Here’s the thing. I do. But being ironic still means you can have good design skills, yeah?? As my friend Duncan commented - The font is like “My first play with photoshop textures”
It makes me sad. This design.
This HORRENDOUS, painfully bad typography, and below par design for a mega-album makes me sad. I mean… how does this happen? Did she maybe “keep it in the family” and try to help her 17 year old cousin on realising their dream of getting into design university?
I can’t see any other way that this could pass through a team of creative directors and make it to the...

Nice visualisation on this site “Where Does My Money Go”… It always intriguing to see information broken down into digestible chunks no? :) C’est interestant!
You can interact with the data to find out more about each section etc….
It’ isn’t the most crafted visual in terms of design, but its clean and clear… and achieve what it needs to.

Check out this interview with Brian Solis regarding engaging influencers. I love what he says at about the 4:50 mark regarding social media research versus monitoring. Social media engagement, much like marketing as a whole, is most effective when it’s customer-centric and based in a deep understanding of the audience. Man I wish I could articulate my thoughts the way Brian does!

I think this could make a great horror movie …. something along the lines of “Don’t look now… thery’re right behind you”
Fortunately I work with nice art directors :)
Before there was photoshop (I know... scary...
Before photoshop…. one had to have actual skills. Of the painting kind :)
Check out the full run of illustrations versus photoshoot…..

This started as a heart
But morphed into something entirely different. I’ll call it my dadaist moment.
Meh .... getting lazy and distracted by the sun...
Need to get my fingers back around some pens. Herse one I started…. but then I saw sunny rays beaming and… well, one thing led to another. Gaaah. This weeks task - to draw again. Yesiree.
GIF AND RETRO AND SCREEN AND SAVER AND SUMMER
Oh, I totes forgot about this AWESOME screensaver I got ages ago… until it reared its head whilst I sipped some nice strong americano this morning. An abundance of creative, serialcut style gifs…. they will keep make you want to sit and not touch your mouse just so that your comp will fade into screensaver mode. That’s what we need… something to make us stop working. This...

BACK yeah!
Ok… I admit it. I was hiding under a rock for at least three months. The rock seemed like a safe sanctuary after my beloved Mac Book pro died. In turn my internet wanderings died with it.. and then my night time creative shenanigans. Woe.
Well, its all fine now. The rock is gone. I bought a shiny new iMac to help me on my weary way and I have all this creative energy stored up....
